RADIOLOGY DEPARTMENT
Radiology
We do routine and emergent radiographs per the doctor or PA's orders.
Ultrasonography Is a service provided here at Chadron Community Hospital by a licensed sonographer, Toni Chancellor, RT (M) (CT) RDMS RVT. Toni does OB/GYN, abdominal, vascular and other types of ultrasounds as ordered by a physician or PA.
CT or CAT Scans CT procedures are done here at the hospital as needed on a semi trailer that is parked here permanently. This unit is a helical scanner and is much faster than the older scanner we used to have. CT's are preformed only with a physician's or PA's order.
Mammography The American Cancer Society recommends that women have a baseline mammogram between the ages of 35 and 40, and then have a mammogram done YEARLY after age 40. Chadron Community Hospital offers routine screening mammograms as well as diagnostic exams when a doctor has seen a change in a patients breast. Remember that we offer a reduced rate to women who have their mammograms done in their birth month. Medicare will pay for one routine screening mammogram every year, it just has to be in the same month or after the previous mammogram or Medicare will not pay for the exam. Eleven full months must elapse.
MRI A new services offered here at the hospital is MRI exams. We have a mobile company coming in on every Thursday to perform MRI's. A physician's or PA's order is required for scheduling MRI exams
